~~ The Jazz On Tap Tour Staff

Founded by master tap teacher, performer and director Mr. Joel Ruminer in 1986, Joel Ruminer Dance Camp has successfully hosted over 13,000 students and teachers in locations including Lake Tecoma, OK, Dodge City, KS, Myrtle Beach, SC, Pensacola, FL, Arlington, TX, Acapulco, Mexico, Colorado Springs, CO, Detroit, MI, Branson, MO, and Biloxi, MS. Former campers can be found dancing on cruise ships, in television, in film and on stage. Dance teachers in attendance value camp for the wealth of material presented, top-notch faculty and congenial atmosphere

In 2006, Mr. Ruminer placed the camp in the able hands of husband and wife team Marcus Alford and Annie Day and it is now known as "Jazz On Tap On Tour". With 15 Years of experience on the dance camp faculty, Marcus and Annie continue Mr. Joel's tradition of dance camp excellence and camp's number one rule, "Have Fun!"

Marcus Alford and Annie Day reside in suburban Atlanta where they own and direct Dancentre South, Inc. Marcus holds a B.A. degree in Dance and Business from the University of Alabama and choreographed, taught, and toured with the legendary Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago for a decade. Annie graduated from Butler University, Indianapolis, Indiana earning a B.A. degree in Dance. They have been on the faculty of every major dance organization including D.M.A., D.E.A., Internationale Tanz Werkstatt, and Boston Dance Teachers Club. Their classes have inspired students at the Festival of the World in Hungary, The American College Dance Festival, The International Ballet Competition, Jackson, MS; Hubbard Street Dance Studio, Chicago; Lexington School for the Deaf, Wake Forest University and the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Alford and Day annually produce "Jazz On Tap" (the metro Atlanta Jazz and Tap Dance Festival), "BalletFest Atlanta" and "The Nutcracker of Cherokee County". Their students are working in the business directing their own companies, teaching, and performing in theme parks, Broadway shows, cruise ships and television/video. In 2003, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters chose them as the recipients of their Lifetime Achievement Award. Marcus and Annie are honored to have been a part of the Joel Ruminer Dance Camp family for 15 years!
